Open Access

This guide provides tips and resources for navigating the Open Access landscape.

Why use Open Access at Johns Hopkins University?

Johns Hopkins University has an Open Access Policy that was approved by the President and the Strategic Planning Group in the spring of 2017.

The JHU OA Policy was developed in accordance with JHU’s current mission of “… providing knowledge for the world” as OA is the way to provide scholarly research and knowledge in the quickest, fairest, and widest way possible.

The policy will require JHU faculty to make a version of their peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles freely available, if they are the sole or corresponding author.

For more information about the policy, read the Open Access Policy.
