Finding Gene Attributes Using NCBI Gene

Use the Gene database to:

• Explore multiple aspects of a single gene (e.g., expression, genomic context, sequence, gene ontology, etc.)

• Retrieve lists of genes that meet specific criteria (e.g., organism, disease association, exon count, etc.)

• Find similar genes (orthologs) in other organisms

• The Gene database acts as a clearinghouse and aggregator of information for all known functional genes, gene predictions, pseudogenes, and mapped phenotypes.
• Gene contains tens of millions of records from tens of thousands of organisms.
• Gene acts as both a central repository and a connecting hub of gene-based information.
