  • Anatomia Collection: This collection features approximately 4500 full page plates and other significant illustrations of human anatomy selected from the Jason A. Hannah and Academy of Medicine collections in the history of medicine at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, University of Toronto. Each illustration has been fully indexed using medical subject headings (MeSH), and techniques of illustration, artists, and engravers have been identified whenever possible. There are ninety-five individual titles represented, ranging in date from 1522 to 1867.
  • Bassett Collection of Stereoscopic Images of Human Anatomy: 1,547 photographic images and accompanying drawings were compiled into a 24-volume Stereoscopic Atlas of Human Anatomy, completed in 1962. The images in this collection are derived from the Atlas project. These images are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License.
  • Gray's Anatomy Online: The Bartleby.com edition of Gray’s Anatomy of the Human Body features 1,247 vibrant engravings—many in color—from the classic 1918 publication, as well as a subject index with 13,000 entries ranging from the Antrum of Highmore to the Zonule of Zinn.
  • Innerbody Anatomy Explorer: This resource provides systems of the human body for study.
  • Muscle Atlas from the University of Washington: The medical illustrations contained in this online atlas are copyrighted © 1997 by the University of Washington. They may not be utilized, reproduced, stored, or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, or by any information storage or retrieval system, without permission in writing from the University of Washington.
  • Primal Pictures: Primal Pictures from Anatomy TV provides high-quality images to study anatomy, export, and share.
  • Visible Human Project: The University of Michigan Visible Human project, lead by Dr. Brian Athey, serves The National Library of Medicine's Visible Human data to health science students, clinicians, educators, and researchers. Novel 2D and 3D navigational browsers display Visible Human content in an educationally relevant manner.
  • Thieme Teaching Assistant, Anatomy: This is a presentation tool with all 2,000+ illustrations and clinical images from Atlas of Anatomy (Gilroy, MacPherson, and Ross). To get full access to content and functionality, go to the registration page to set up an account. For the advanced display and editing features, install the free "Silverlight" plugin.

  • AGREE (Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation>

    • Offers a checklist of 23 items to guide the reporting of practice guidelines.

  • AHRQ Evidence-Based Practice Resorts

    • EPC Reports offer comprehensive, science-based information on common costly medical conditions and new health care technologies and strategies.

  • ECRI Institute Guidelines Trust

    • ECRI Guidelines Trust is a publicly available online repository of objective, evidence-based clinical practice guideline content. Its purpose is to provide physicians, nurses, other clinical specialties, and members of the healthcare community with up-to-date clinical practices to advance safe and effective patient care. This centralized repository includes evidence-based guidance developed by nationally and internationally recognized medical organizations and medical specialty societies. User must register for free access.

  • Guidelines International Network

    • G-I-N supports evidence-based health care and improved health outcomes by supporting work to reduce inappropriate variation in practice throughout the world.

  • JBI EBP Database

    • JBI's evidence-based practice resources assist healthcare professionals to implement an effective evidence-based practice program to provide the best possible patient care. Filter search results for Recommend Practices.

  • Nursing Best Practice Guidelines

    • There are currently 50 published guidelines as well as a toolkit and educator's resource to support implementation. Many of these publications are available in French, among other languages and we continue to translate materials on an ongoing basis.
